Product Information

Redding trim dies allow you to file trim your cases without unnecessary resizing because they are made to chamber dimensions. For case forming and necking brass down from another caliber, Redding trim dies can be the perfect intermediate step before full length resizing.

Redding form die

By Curtiss M. on Jan 17, 2024
Makes reforming brass process easier to do with complete success. Also saves resources in the long run by reducing the amount of deformation by forcing too much change to the case at each stage. Will last a couple of lifetimes. Thanks Redding and Grafs!

Redding's usual quality

The die is Redding's usual quality, but I have not used it yet. I forgot to order the extended shellholder with it.

.256 Win Mag Form And Trim Die

By Bill W. on Dec 12, 2019
After using Form Die#2 This one will take your Inside case neck diameter from .292" down to .261" you don't have to re-lube the case if you just used form die#2. You can use a file to trim off the excess brass. Your case will measure 1.298" before filing and 1.285" after you file it. This is .004" longer than the trim to length. when you run the case through your full length sizing die it will be .010" too long. Rather than having to trim them twice I use a case trimmer as the last step after full length resizing. Hint: I wiped the lube from the shoulder and neck area on the case. If you get wrinkles on the shoulder it is from too much lube. Then I anneal the case and your ready to load!
