Due to the packaging and shipping process, case necks are often slightly dinged or bent and need to be rounded up and sized to give proper neck tension. New and/or fired cases must be full-length resized or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through the case neck prior to loading.

Best Brass!

By Terry J. on Nov 15, 2023
Being a straight-walled brass, Starline 45-70 lasts a long, long time of multiple reloadings. Adding Starline's nickel plating, this brass seems to last forever, so whenever I can grab some, I get all I can afford. It also seems to chamber and eject more smoothly too. My only complaint is that Starline doesn't make more of it than they do. Graf's was stellar as usual, and packed it well and shipped it fast. Thanks Graf's. and thanks Starline!

The only place I could find some 45-70 Brass! Great brass and Graf shipped the next day!

Excellent product and price

By Bryan C. on Oct 23, 2023
Starline quoted me a bulk price backorder for a massive amount of this product - then I found it at Grafs! Planning to load this with black powder - Im thinking the nickel plating will help prevent verdigris especially out in the field where I wont be able to immediately clean brass with soap and water.

Awesome

Was so happy to see this temporarily back in stock. I wish Starline would increase production of the harder to find calibers. This is good stuff!

Very nice brass! Very sturdy! Very shiny! Each shell is very good quality and uniform. It also shipped very quickly.

It’s Starline, That says it all

Starline brass has performed well for me for years. This brass is no different. Great consistency. I use starline for 8 calibers. 9 if I get another 375 winchester.

45-70 nickel plated brass

The nickel plated brass make the shell stand out the people at the range. Love them, to top it off I shoot them out my 14’’ contender pistol. They load great and shoot good. Thank you.

Great brass!

I went with the recommendations from above and have to chime in also. This brass is very uniform and seems to be slightly heavier than most brands so I should get a few more reloads out of it before I have to scrap it. I also prefer nickel brass due to the fact it doesn't tarnish or discolor in storage and it doesn't need tumbled as often to make it look new again plus the cost is more reasonable than other brands. Another great example of quality workmanship from star-line.

Beautiful and consistent!

Great brass! Loaded up some rounds and the length of this brass was more consistent than their regular brass. Great value! Also weighed them, again more consistent. My chamber does not need nickel plated brass but with some black chrome powdercoated bullets these cartridges look beautiful! Wish I could upload a picture on here! I also noticed after 1 reloading the primer pockets were tighter than my once fired Hornady brass. This are at a similar price point but you get twice as much and tighter primer pockets!

Great brass at a reasonable price.

Better than their brass product

By Ricky S. on Oct 19, 2018
I buy a lot of 45-70 and 44 mag casings from various manufacturers. Starline brass casings are really sad. I lose about 5% of them because of torn mouths, crushed mouths, and other quality control issues. I tried their nickel casings for the first time. NICE. No damage or wasted money. The casings were clean and true. No need to spend extra time trying to make a casing loadable after spending close to a buck each. Avoid the brass, embrace the nickel.

45-70 nickel plated brass

By Raoul L L. on Aug 27, 2018
I really like 45-70 nickel plated brass and find it difficult to purchase. When I received this brass I measured the tolerances for overall length, all of the casings were what they were supposed to be. I then used a primer pocket reamer to ensure that all of the primer pockets were uniform. This is the very first time that I have ever found all of the primer pockets to be uniform with no material removed from the pockets. The only work that I did have to do was to remove the burr from the flash hole, however I must say that I have never found any casing that did not require this procedure. Will definitely purchase more brass from this company.
