WHEELER ENGINEERING 1" & 30mm SCOPE MOUNTING KIT

I use this with my Ruger M77 MKII 1" & 30MM rings and other rings. The kit comes with 1 " & 30MM lapping bars & a small jar of 220 lapping compound of the material removing grit size. Other useful items are included. Some of the investment cast Ruger rings will not easily accept a scope without force this makes for marked up scope tubes. A short application of the lapping bar with a small amount of 220 lapping compound fixes the problem and removes high areas inside the ring making for increased ring/tube contact. I use my cordless drill to turn the lapping bar at a slow speed using the flexible connector threaded into the bar end. The handle may be used for manual back & forth lapping. Other rings that are CNC machined or sintered also show increased tube contact upon lapping. The pointed bars are used to check ring/tube alignment. Correct screw torque is accomplished with the FAT wrench. Good for preventing ring marks, reducing tube movement, misaligned rings, & stripped screws,
