Carbide Factory Crimp Die sizes the cartridge while being crimped so every round will positively chamber freely with factory like dependability The adjusting screw quickly and easily sets the desired amount of crimp. Trim Length is not critical so this extra operation takes less time than it would if cases were trimmed and chamfered. A firm crimp is essential for dependable and accurate ammunition, as it eliminates the problems of poor ignition of slow burning magnum powders.

 Lee Factory Crimp Die

This was a great addition to my .44 die set. The Lee factory crimp die is a great die for the money and a must have for cowboy action cartridges. The carbide ring is nice as it sizes out any bulges before the crimp is applied aiding in smooth reloading into the cylinder/chamber. I highly recommend this die!

Great for rounds in tubular magazines

I use the .44 Magnum factory crimp die on my reloads both to ensure a strong roll crimp for slow burning magnum powders but also to ensure the bullets do not get pushed deeper into the case by being loaded, sometimes repeatedly, in tubular magazine lever action rifles. Of course, the die also makes sure the loaded round is sized to chamber perfectly in virtually any .44 magnum chamber.

I also use it religiously with my .45 ACP handloads as I have a custom Commander with a tight, match chamber that often will not allow a round to seat fully. A slightly oversized round stuck in the chamber is no fun when in the middle of an action pistol stage! (Nor would it be in a self defense situation!) The factory crimp die ensures that every round will chamber.

This die gives my loaded rounds the reliability and consistency I need in my hunting loads. If not crimped the heavy recoil can cause the bullet to shift in the case which would change the pressure dynamics of the round. Not after using this.

Bought this to do a better crimp on .44 special loads, and it works very well. I did replace the lock ring/nut with one that locks in place with a set screw. The one that comes with it just has an O-ring. I'm happy with it, and plan to get another for .357 mag/.38 special loads.

I have used this die for years on 44 magnum with great results. I bought this one for 44 Russian, and it works just as well.

Works very well. Crimp will be in same place on each use. Easy to change from spl to mag
