Nearly no expansion

These bullets were decent technology when designed in 1988, but the best performance in these is the marketing. They are uniform, quality bullets before ballistics are considered. Not much better than FMJ and carry too much penetration.
Factory loads are advertised at 950 with nice expansion and the exposed post for penetration. Actual tests show velocity averages in the 700's from a 2" barrel and mid 800's from a 4" barrel with no expansion and only some distortion in the actual cavity. Until Federal releases HST components, stick with another brand. *These are not the new Hydra-Shok Deep bullets*
Oh, and load data is only available for 5 Alliant powders and Federal won't give you anything besides what's on the data card inside the box.
