I have had and used this chronograph for about 3 months now. Temps have ranged from 32 to45 degs. Every shot from several different rifles and one pistol were read. It was nice to know velocities were near what I thought they were for the rifles, the pistol ammo was more interesting and I was very satisfied. As a reloader good information is never a bad thing. This chronograph has worked very well and has been money well spent.

I purchase this little gem in April of 2014 after literally months of procrastinating over it. My dilemma was simple enough, I had not shot over a chronograph in 30 years and the last one I had used was more than a disappointment. After reading Lyn P's review and speaking with some friends I decided to bite the bullet, so too speak, and bought the Prochrono unit above.
Too say I was pleased in an understatement. This unit confirmed my velocities within 100 fps of what I thought they should be. It also allowed me to shoot, with confidence, knowing (and “knowing” is the key word) exactly how my bullets were preforming at the various distances I was shooting. I can also confirm that Lyn P states without exaggeration the abilities of this unit and how well it preforms.
Make this unit an integrated part of your reloading process; you won't be disappointed.

In November of 2012 I purchased a ProChrono to replace a PACT XP1. I had purchased the PACK XP1 in 2004. From the very beginning it had very, very poor battery, and a lot of error messages. I used it at the range for load development. I like to shoot 12 shot groups, and do not shoot hot barrels. So it takes from 30 to 45 minuets for one group. At below 50 degrees the 9 volt battery would last for one 12 shot group only. At above 70 degrees I could get two 12 shots groups from one battery. I just had to quit using the PACT below 70 degrees. It was returned two times to PACT. Both times it was returned after two months at no charge. It did not change at all, still had the same poor battery life. I fought this for over eight years and well over 150.00 dollars of 9 volt batteries. I was purchasing batteries in bulk at about 3.00 each. You would think, someone over seventy years old would be smarter to put up with junk like the PACT. After I received the new ProChrono in November I went to the same range. The first day it was very sunny, between 40 to 45 degrees. I used diffusers shot 136 rounds of 22's. 223, 243 and 30-06. I did NOT have one error or non reading. The second time it was 35 to 40 degrees, very cloudy. I shot 199 rounds without the diffusers, using the same cartridges, still without one error. This is a total of 335 rounds in less than ideal temperatures all on one 9 volt battery. The ProChrono has low battery display and a non-volatile memory. You can change batteries, or turn it off take it home to review up to 9 different groups. I could not be any happier with the ProChrono.
