good primers

By JIM B. on Mar 04, 2024
I load these in 45acp ,mostly using range brass which varies greatly I found out.I set my press by loading 100 pieces and then checking them with hand primer. Some of the range brass the primers will seat ten thousandths below flush ,my press will not compensate for that. I hand prime the odd stuff [i know which headstamps to look for] and prime others on press.I have never had issue with these primers going off. good reliable product

Solid Primers, good value

Disregard the negative reviews...these are by folks who simply don't know how to use their equipment, nor how to measure primer seating depth. These are the same as ALL metric primers, just a tiny bit larger than US primers, and consequently are tight, and require a bit more effort to seat. This is a good thing, especially in once or more fired brass. These primers have also given me the absolute best SD's in match ammo I've ever gotten from any other primer, including Federal Match primers. Make sure you seat them .003 below flush. The folks experiencing misfires are simply not seating them deep enough, usually a sign that they've never bothered to measure seating depth and aren't QC'ng their ammo either. As a commercial manufacturer, I have loaded more than a quarter million rounds with these primers. They simply work, and they are the only primer on the market with a cup nearly as soft as Federal, they are outstanding for Cowboy Action Shooting, especially for modified hammers that often light strike on CCI's or other hard cup primers. Use the back side of your dial caliber or buy a depth guage and measure your seating depth and you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality and consistency of these primers.

Great Product

I ordered these as I could not find any Large Pistol primers where I live , I have had no failures of any kind and have not had any issues with seating them. I am using these in 45 Auto, 45 Auto Rimmed, 45 Super and 44 Magnum. I load 44Magnum with H110 and Blue Dot, they performed as well as LP Magnum Primers with H110, I really could not tell any difference and with Blue Dot I got the same results. One thing I did notice in my Test Loads using the same H110 and Blue Dot loads is that the primers did flatten very slightly so I am going to back down my loads a grain. Other wise in the 45's they worked flawlessly. I will be getting more of these when I need more primers and will try the Small Pistol Primers also based on my experience. Thank you Graf's for having these available.

unis large primers

I've reloaded thousands of rounds on my Dillon 650. In the past I've used CCI, Winchester, and Tula primers all with very good results. I decided to check these out because of the price. So far I've reloaded and shot around 700 rounds utilizing these primers out of various Colts and a couple of Springfields. I've experienced a misfire rate of around 20% with the Colts and around 30% with the Springfields. Sometimes it took as many as four tries before the round went bang despite solid hits on the primer. Some of my pistols that used to shoot to point of aim or even a tad low at 50 feet now for some reason shoot way high. Reloading and shooting these are a chore.

Large Primers in .45 ACP

Loaded 50 rounds. Lead, coated, and FMJ. They all fired and looked perfect. No abnormalities in the spent primers.

They did take a little more effort in seating in range pickup brass. Brass that has been properly prepped (pocket sized) had no issues. My theory is that these are made to fit tight since they are designed to function even in the most adverse conditions. They simply will not come out or move when the rounds are tossed around.

I probably won't use them for long range rifle competitions but for 55gr .223 AR fun, just PERFECT! Same goes for cost effective .45, 9mm, .38spc practice rounds. I will buy again.
