Due to the packaging and shipping process, case necks are often slightly dinged or bent and need to be rounded up and sized to give proper neck tension. New and/or fired cases must be full-length resized or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through the case neck prior to loading.

FC .224 Valkyrie Brass

By Dan R. on May 25, 2020
Bought 200 pcs., & after 1-2 firings, the necks started splitting. I contacted Federal & sent in some samples. They said the brass had not been annealed & sent me 200 more as replacements. One by one they are splitting, which is very annoying as I sort by weight & I have to find other cases of the same weight for matching. I have since tried Starline & am getting considerably more reloads before the necks begin to split. .

Excellent quality

Great Brass

By Albert G. on Mar 04, 2019
Package arrived with no damage, no bent case necks ect. The brass is very uniform (flash holes need some work) and trimmed to spec. Other than resizing and chamfer, deburr it was ready to load. Primer pockets were tight with CCI 400 primers.

Just finished new upper and loaded up 100 rounds with fed GM brass. The brass was the usual high quality I expect from federal. Will buy more

Federal 224 Valkyrie Brass

By Charles E. B. on Oct 22, 2018
Top quality and features for half or less of the price of 22 Nosler or 6.5 Grendel brass. I've purchased 500 rounds of this brass, prepped all of it, and fired most of it 1X or more times. I've just begun to develop loads with Sierra's 95 gr Matchking and am getting 1" or less groups at 100 yards with RL-17 and BR-4 primers out of a Brownell's 24" barrel.
At this stage, I have found both the new and fired case capacity to vary less than 0.2 grains of water. All cases were good - no machining errors, no split necks, all necks annealed, all heads properly hardened, and primer pockets uniform in size and depth. I always expect to trim new cases to length with WFT trimmer and chamfer, so no comment about length uniformity of new cases. Same for deburring flash holes. Flash holes were all properly centered. Overall i'm quite happy with these.

Brass is cheaper than Starline and is recommended by the Sierra Website especially for 90 and 95 grain bullets
