Due to the packaging and shipping process, case necks are often slightly dinged or bent and need to be rounded up and sized to give proper neck tension. New and/or fired cases must be full-length resized or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through the case neck prior to loading.

Product Information

Tested, selected and fielded by a specialized group within the U.S. DoD for its multipurpose combat rifle program, the versatile 6mm ARC does much of what larger cartridges can and everything that smaller cartridges can’t. Designed to meet the needs of the world’s toughest critics, the 6mm ARC utilizes efficient, high-BC bullets to deliver unprecedented performance from the AR-15 platform. Commercial 6mm ARC offerings will feature bullets selected to deliver ideal performance for hunting, match shooting and personal protection applications.

At Hornady,® brass is the foundation for what could be the most memorable shot of your lifetime. Extra time and care is taken in the creation of our cases, producing smaller lots that meet strict quality standards.

Hornady cases offer reloaders excellent uniformity in wall thickness, weight and internal capacity. We measure for consistently tight wall concentricity and even run our cases through a pressure calibration test to ensure uniform case expansion during firing.

Hornady cases allow proper seating of the bullet, not only in the case, but in the chamber as well. High quality brass contributes to consistent charges and pressures.

  • TIGHT WALL CONCENTRICITY: Concentricity helps to ensure proper bullet seating in both the case and the chamber of your firearm. Higher concentricity also aids in a uniform release of the bullet on firing, for optimal velocity and accuracy.
  • UNIFORM CASE WALL THICKNESS: Benchrest shooters have long known that uniform case wall thickness is vital to accuracy. We manufacture to extremely tight tolerances to ensure this critical element is as consistent as possible.
  • MORE RELOADS PER CASE: We treat Hornady brass as the foundation for an accurate cartridge, not a commodity. Because we take greater care in its creation you’ll get more reloads from Hornady brass.
  • CONSISTENT WEIGHT AND CAPACITY: Every single Hornady case, regardless of the lot in which it was produced, is virtually identical to other Hornady cases in the same caliber. For you, this means consistent pressures, velocity and accuracy — every time.

Hornady 6mm ARC brass

By Patrick S. on Dec 21, 2023
6mm ARC is a relatively new cartridge and brass has been hard to find. The Hornady brass is very uniform, easy to work with and load. So far I have reloaded the same brass twice without any issues, and none has been damaged by firing.

Hard to find, but great product. I can always count on Grafs to have this brass sooner than other retailers.

Hornady 6 ARC brass cases

By Dean H. on Dec 17, 2023
I have been using Hornady brass cases in rifle and pistol with excellent results. The 6 ARC is my newest Hornady cartage for long range shooting events and is an excellent cartridge for AR platform 500 meter shoots along with Hornady 108 ELD bullets.

Good Enough for Me

By Bart H. on Sep 21, 2020
I was glad Graf's still had this is stock when I purchased two boxes for an upcoming build. Both boxes had all 50 pieces which were nice and shiny and no damaged case mouths or brass imperfections that I saw! However I did go through one box for weights and case length. For weight distribution I had case weights from 118.9-122.7 (min and max respectively so ES of 3.8) with an average of 121 grains and a SD of 1 grain. It was fairly close to a normal distribution as a two tailed 1-sigma from average was 66% of the brass meaning 66% (33 out of the 50) of the brass weighed from 122-120 grains (pretty close to the theoretical 68%). As for case length all, most of mine were between 1.483-1.484 but I did have 8 fliers between 1.485 and 1.488. If I process them and they get quite a bit closer I will give an update but the fliers did not seem to match the higher weights so some variances are likely happening in other areas. Either way this is totally fine to me as both bags will be feeding gas guns and the brass is likely to take a beating. Looking forward to testing them out at the range!

Thanks Graf
