Defective out of the box, but still an initial impression review

First, let me start off that Graf's is always awesome. And I use them as the main supplier for my shop. Their packaging is always top-notch and everything comes well-cushioned in the box.

And now for the optic. It is an optical 3x scope with a digital zoom to 14x. Functioning like how a camcorder or a digital camera zooms. Included is a rubber eye cup a sunshade, mounts, an illuminator, cr123a batteries, and a Neoprene cover. The only thing the user will need to supply is a micro sd card and a 2 amp USB charger adapter (like for an Ipad) but the required USB cable is included. Unfortunately, the cover does not fit with the sunshade and eyecup installed.

Charge the battery first, Format the SD card from the scope, power the scope off, then follow the directions included to flash the firmware of the scope.

My issue is that my optic has a manufacturing defect fresh from the box. The distance focus ring does not affect the focus and I have a ticket opened with ATN to get a replacement.

From what I have gotten to play with the scope is pretty cool. The camera takes good pictures (at the 50 ft my scope focus is stuck at)

The night vision was better than I expected last night under a partially full moon with a slight overcast.

The ranging is easy to use. Set line above a target of known size set line below the target of known size and the range will be adjusted moving the scope point of impact to where the bullet will hit at range. Or just add the optional Laser range finder.

I have not played with the scope on a rifle due to the defect mine has so I cannot comment on the ballistics computer and one-shot zero features.

It can be set to record before and after a shot is fired upon recoil. Sort of like how a police bodycam works.

Anyway, I am going to give it 2 stars for now and will update when the replacement arrives and I can give it a full review. If it were not for the extras in the box and the responses of the US-based support desk I would have given it a 1-star review at this point but they are going to make it right.

Another major strike against the company is that they are made in china like all electronics these days, so the best I can personally rate them will be a max of 4 stars.
