Excellent in an AR-10

I switched to these after speaking with Barnes about a deer killed with the 165 grain TSX from a .308, who suggested that I try a different bullet as that one was designed for larger .30 cal rifles. So I tried these in my AR-10 and I haven't taken any game with them yet but they feed and group great from my AR.

Great bullet works best close to the lands (as do most bullets) but still very good if using Barnes load data. Worked well with IMR 4350 with an SD of 10. Very acceptable performance for any hunting bullet. Grouping is acceptable at 100 yds of 1 MOA some under MOA groups during final load testing. Tried Varget but was too hot for my liking and not as consistent as the 4350 in my rifle (X-Bolt 300 WSM). Can't go wrong with this one especially if you hunt in CA.

Hunting load

I had to develop a new non lead hunting load for my 30-06 for hunting deer in CA. I used Lapua brass xx.x grains of Varget. (This is a max load so don’t start here)
. I shot a 5 shot group and got 3/4 Moa at 100 yards using my bipod on a shooting table. I am pretty satisfied with that.
Barnes Ttsx

We have been using the Ttsx bullets for years here in Italy both for wild hog and roe deer. Great stopping power. We found that to make the bullet work well, compared to a traditional bullets, we have to drop in weigh and send then as fast as allowed. In over 100 kills, 80% die withing 10 yards, The farthest one 200 lb hog has gone were 50 yards
