GP11 barrel life problem
The above comments are correct, but there is a problem with the military K11 cartridge: the barrel life is shortened considerably due to the higher flame temperature. In the typical G&E, Tanner, or Sauer 205 gun, the barrel live is reduced from an otherwise-expected 7000 rounds, to about 4000-5000. The effect may be less pronounced in a K31 due to the standard carbon steel used, but it still will occur.

For occasional use, this would not matter, of course.
As the K-11 round ages, flame temperature increases, as does pressure and MV, making this more pronounced, the older the lot.
match grade ammo for plinking prices, can be beat.

Greatest Swiss Ammunition
Extremely accurate match grade, non corrosive surplus ammo. Steel jacket and lead core. Stick with GP11 for your Swiss rifles and skip the other brands as they don't compare.

GP11 Swiss ammo can't be beat
I've been reloading for over 30 years and I have not yet been able to reload for my K31 and get better accuracy than with the GP11 surplus ammo.
