ELD® Match (Extremely Low Drag Match) bullets are technologically advanced, enhanced accuracy target bullets featuring Heat Shield® tips with the PERFECT MEPLAT (tip point) combined with numerous design features that deliver the highest-in-class ballistic coefficients, superior accuracy and extreme consistency from bullet to bullet, lot to lot.

Superior accuracy and industry leading ballistic design has been achieved with the ELD Match bullet. An optimum secant ogive and boattail design along with the Heat Shield tip produce a bullet with the highest possible ballistic coefficient in its class.

  • THE PERFECT TIP:  The Heat Shield® tip is immune to the effects of aerodynamic heating and retains its shape to provide a perfect meplat (tip) that is always the same shape. The patented DVRT™ (Drag Variability Reduction Technology) increases bullet drag uniformity for less dispersion and smaller groups at longer ranges.
  • BULLET SHAPED FOR ACCURACY:  Along with the Heat Shield® tip, the streamlined secant ogive with optimum boattail design and highly concentric AMP® bullet jackets combine for remarkable accuracy and best-in-class BCs.
  • BEST-IN-CLASS BCs:  ELD® Match bullet BCs are measured and verified by Doppler radar and corrected to standard atmospheric conditions.
  • SWAGED LEAD CORE FOR UNIFORMITY:  ELD® Match bullets feature a precision swaged lead core, which provides consistent uniformity and contributes to the bullet’s aerodynamics and accuracy, even at extended ranges.

This is not loaded ammunition.

ELD-M for hunting

By Darrell N. on Oct 30, 2025
The ELD-M bullet, much like the ELD-X and the Sierra TGK, is frangible. It's NOT a bonded bullet which can be expected to hold together well during high-velocity impacts or, of course, when striking heavy shoulder bones on entry. My Son and I have had very good results hunting with the ELD-M. However, you must use it appropriately. In a 6.5 Swede and in the 6.5-284, we've made quick clean kills on Elk and big Mule Deer in Nevada. We "dual load" which means for close shots (generally under 200 yards) we use a monometal or bonded bullet which may not be as accurate, but holds together and penetrates well. After 200, once the bullet has slowed a bit and accuracy becomes more of an issue, the ELD-M shines. It expands well at lower velocities and we've found it will retain about half its weight if we recover them on the off-side of the chest cavity. Shot placement is critical regardless of what projectile you use, and the ELD-M has been consistently accurate in all of our rifles. Staying off the shoulder (humerus) on entry is important of course, and that general rule really applies to all sorts of bullets regardless of construction. Ribs and the thinner scapula aren't a problem. Expect good penetration with occasional exits and the boiler room of an Elk or Deer will be soup. Meat loss is basically zero. Kills are fast and humane. Happy hunting!
