Nosler Ballistic Tips

I have used Nosler Ballistic Tips in .25, .26, .27, and .30 caliber exclusively since they were brought out in the 1990's. Prior I used their solid base boat tails. In every case I used the most accurate load listing found in the Nosler manual for the bullet weight I intended to use and every time the accuracy yielded would be hard to beat. Terminal performance on deer has been exceptional. I see no reason change as each lot has proved to be consistent in accuracy and performance.

I’ve loaded Ballistic tips in calibers ranging from .22 to 8mm.
When I work up loads for a new gun, almost invariably the ones featuring Ballistic Tips are the most accurate.

Down through the years I’ve probably killed 20 white tails with these bullets and never had reason to complain.

Ballistic Tips

I reload Ballistic Tips in 30 caliber and 223 caliber. I use them for varmint and mule deer hunting out to 400 yards or so. In 30 caliber I use 150 grain in a 308 and 165 and 180 in my two 300 wsm's.

Overall the bullets themselves are reasonably consistent in bullet base to ogive measurement and bullet weight.
Out of a box of 50 I will MAYBE find one or two that are just slightly different in some regard and I load those as fouling shots. I do not believe the differences would matter that much for a hunting load.

I have found them to be tolerant to slight seating depth (+/- 5 thou from optimal) and slight velocity (+/- 100 fps from optimal) variations, so the loading process does not have to be an exercise in extreme precision to get acceptable results (Acceptable=MOA or better for my hunting rifles). This also helps for some level of consistency when temperatures vary.

Terminal performance has been good to great throughout the spectrum of bullet weights. Match the bullet to the task and the expected target distance, keep the velocity where it needs to be at target impact, and they will work just fine.

I have tried most brands of bullets over the last 50 years. Nosler"s have proven to be overall the most accurate in my rifles and the most effective on game.
This one shoots 1/2 moa in my 30-06 if I do my part.
I am particularly fond of partitions.
