Hornady® NTX® bullets provide peerless performance with a non-traditional core material that combines accuracy, reliability and Hornady® quality for use in areas with restrictions on the use of traditional bullets.

Hornady® has made lead core bullets since 1949. Lead is, and always will be an excellent core material that provides density and hard-hitting energy to a vast array of bullets. However, there are regulations in some areas that restrict the use of lead in bullets.

The non-lead core of the NTX,® which is crafted from a frangible copper alloy, features a small space between it and the shaft of the hard polymer tip, just like the V-MAX.® This specially designed cavity allows the copper-colored tip and shaft to build up increased energy upon impact with the target before driving into the bullet's core with increased force, initiating near-instant expansion and explosive fragmentation.

Hornady 20cal 24gr NTX

Bought this bullet because I have a rifle with a 1/ 12 twist and as I pushed up the velocity the group spread. But I also have a contender super 14 with a custom mgm barrel and a 1/10 twist which works very well with the heavier bullet. With the 24 grain it groups with all 5 touching at 100 yrds.

I live in California and have to use non lead bullets. I tried many other bullets, these are the best performing.
Most 204 rifles are 1x 12 twist and 32 grain are longer and won’t stabilize. The 24gr work great

I started looking for a lead free bullet for shooting
squirrels and coyotes. I bought all the bullets that were available on the market. I tried them all with
different powders, bullet seating depth, and even
different primers. Nothing would give me any good
groups until I tried the Hornady 20cal 24gr NTX bullet. Bingo! It shot in all my 20 cal. rifles. I have 20 VTT, 20 TAC, and 20 PPC Rifles with different twist barrels. This bullet works in all of my rifles and is not bothered by the wind like the other bullets.

I bought this bullet about 4 years ago and I use this bullet for hunting coyotes. I use benchmark Powder 27.5 grains. this is just about 0.2 grains above the starting load. It is extremely accurate going about 4150 feet per second. I does work at 300 yards, the longest shot I have taken with the bullet. every coyote I have shot has dropped. the bullet is very explosive and very accurate. The reason I stopped at 27.5 grains it was one ragged hole at 100 yards.
