Berry 243/308 Slip-Top Box 20-Round Blue

I bought 20 of these boxes for 308 Winchester. They are good quality. My one complaint is the slip on lid is too short. Like most boxes it has two parts: the bottom that holds 20 cartridges and the cover that slides over the cartridges and the bottom. My 308 cartridges measure a total length of 2.750". When I close the box over the cartridges it leaves a one inch gap on the bottom -which causes the top to be very unsecure. There is not much (if any) of a friction fit. So, If you slightly tip the box the cartridges will spill out. As one of the previous reviewers mentioned they placed rubber bands around them to secure the lids. I would bet that anyone who uses these boxes will need to employ rubber bands or tape. If not I don't think you will be satisfied.

Good storage box for 300 Savage. Top holds on well, good for pockets or day pack. Useful for hunting or when you don't need a whole box of 50 reloads.

I like old original cartridge boxes, but wear out. I buy my cartridge cases in bulk in big lots. After loading them into cartridges you need these boxes to protect your ammo. These plastic boxes pack in G.I. ammo cans. I made up paper labels noting caliber bullet, powder ,primer, case, velocity, pressure, date .I place this over the filled box lower section place the lid over the top of the lower section. A 5 inch piece of painters masking tape holds the lid in place. The information and cartridges are still visible. They come in colors blue ,red ,clear for different uses and calibers. Buy extra as your buddys will want them. They come in different sizes too.

They could be improved by latching, instead of having to use a rubber band, so the tops wouldn't come off so easily.

Accepts many calibers and rounds can be set to the bottom. 450 bm fit about halfway down in slots but cover still works. Use inside rounds first to keep lid even.

Not sure what I was thinking when I bought these. The lids are not secured in any way. As long as the box remains upright everything is good.
