Berry's Preferred Plated bullets begin as a swaged lead core. The swaged lead cores are tumbled in an electrically charged bath containing high-grade copper ingots. The copper clings to the lead and the longer the bullets remain in the bath, the thicker the plating. The bullets are plated to the correct size and then taken out of the bath. Plated bullets are not as expensive as jacketed bullets. They are cleaner than lead but you'll want to stay away from magnum velocities when loading plated bullets. This is not loaded ammunition.

These bullets are excellent for training. I use them in making the ammunition for the classes that I teach. They function reliably in all of the 9mm handguns that I use in my classes.

Barry's 9 mm Plated Bullets

I use these for steel challenge competitions in my AR 9mm PCC and they work great. Because of the distance and size of the targets in this sport, reliability is your prime concern. If you miss the plate, shoot again. You may drop a half second with the follow up shot but if you have a Failure To Feed you will drop to last place.
These bullets has never caused me a FTF malfunction in my carbine. For plinking, practicing or having fun this is the bullet to use.
