I have had excellent groups at 50 yards off a rest with open factory sights, in a Henry steel rifle chambered in .45 Colt, using Alliant 2400.
Chronograph reads ~1550 FPS. Roughly 1200 FtLbs of energy. Could go up a little more but I hunt in dense vegetation/chaparral and most shots are within 60 Yds.
