I have always been a solvent user, but this is better and a lot easier to clean up.

Cast bullets require a copper free bore to shoot accurately.
Just used Hoppes Elite and Wipe Out Cleaner to remove all the fowling and copper from a 1903 Krag.
The only other option would have been to use an abrasive cleaner. Anyway Elite is the best cleaner to remove powder fowling I've found so far.
