Great shot

This is really well plated and slick shot. I picked this up for grouse hunting, and it really penetrates well, which is critical for crazy birds in heavy cover. They need to come down stone dead where I hunt, and this shot does it. A stout charge of Longshot pushing a DR WJ with 1 1/8 throws a consistent and rapidly dispersing pattern through the old Ithaca M37 with IC choke. Hammered everything I hit with it!

I purchased this for reloading in some long range trap loads for Annie Oakley. I reloaded some with Green Dot and 1 ounce of these #6s and boy do they bring down the targets. Shot at one clay bird that had to be 75 to 80 yds out and it broke in four pieces. Very impressive. Lot of people couldn't believe it. Even with a 1 ounce load.

Got some of this Eagle #6 & 4 along with some Lawrence #4. The plating on the Eagle brand was a little more inconsistent over the Lawrence brand, especially on the #6 size.
While it was plated decent, there were pellets that only had about 1/2 plated and other half lead. The Lawrence 4 shot was extremely consistent and all the shot was plated great, the Eagle 4 shot was better than the 6 shot, but I still think the Lawrence quality was better. While the Lawrence costs a little more, I really can’t say which is better yet, as I’ve only gotten a few bags so far and may just be a one lot kinda thing.
So both are great shot, and plating is good, but could be better at least on the few bags of Eagle I received. When on sale it’s a no brainer, but I think I need a few more bags of each for a final verdict.
