Hornady Rapid Safe AR Gunlocker Review

I typically don't do reviews, but ironically have been on a journey in securing a home defense weapon for my daughter's home. After trying multiple items, I've settled on this, as it simply has more flexibility than most wall mount type lock boxes out there, which will never accommodate every gun. The Gunlocker affords hidden out of sight storage, prevents easy theft, offers quick and multiple access options, and most of all, keeps grandchildren and their young friends incapable of access.
I gave it four out of five stars simply because the holes punched in the bottom have no dimensional logic at all. They're not on16" centers, and the four holes are randomly punched, fitting few or no situations. Not a big deal, as it's not Hornady's job to assure their product fits everyone's home dimensional requirements. Drilling additional holes is pretty much inevitable, but maybe they'll come up with a better way for the novice eventually.
In their defense, they do provide a cable to secure the Gunlocker or those wishing to use it.
Overall, a worthy product.

This safe has been designed to be the perfect size for putting under the frame of a bed which has a standard height from the floor. When a bed is made the safe is then concealed, but readily accessible. There are three ways to open the safe, a number code, RFD devices, or a key.
The safe is sized properly to fit an AR-15, but would be a bit tight for two full size AR rifles. There is plenty of room for an additional smaller sized weapons and magazines. A cable is provided to secure the safe to the bed frame, which is an added feature.
