Product Information

Shooters World Match Rifle - 8 lb.

This propellant is highly versatile, and has shown exceptional accuracy in .223 Remington, 5.56mm, and .308 Winchester. It is similar in burn speed to Accurate® 2520, CFE™223, Reloader®15 and IMR 4064. It holds the broadest utility across all moderate rifle propellants.

The propellant gas generation rate is appropriate for cartridges of the light to heavy sectional density .223 Remington and .308 Winchester. It can load the 55 grain, through 77 and 80 grain .223 REM. It loads the 150, 168 and 175 grain .308 Winchester, and loads all .30-30 combinations. It works in .30-06, in 7mm-08, 6mm BR, 6mm PPC, .204 Ruger, and similar cartridges.

The burn rate and geometry of this powder yields low residue, and ample port pressure to cycle AR, M1, M1A, G3 and G36 systems.

The flow characteristics of this propellant enable the loader to volumetrically dump charges within +/- 0.1 grains.

It does contain a level of flash suppression, incorporated into the propellant.

Match Rifle is a canister form of Explosia bulk and canister propellant D073-06.

Ballistic load data using SAAMI test methods and standards for Match Rifle is available at

As with any propellant and load combination, a minor change to any of the components of the test load CAN result in significant shift in ballistic performance. This shift can cause unintended high pressures, and result in injury or death. Therefore, Shooters World LLC, nor the manufacturer of this propellant take no responsibility for the intentional or unintentional misuse of this product. The charge weights and results noted within are not recommended, either as a starting nor completed load. They are shown merely as an indication of potential performance in one test load, shot by CIP standards.

not so great for service rifle loads

By Marshall V. on Nov 23, 2022
When AA2520 became unavailable in 2016 I bought Match Rifle. While it shot sub-moa at 200 yds, performance fell off beyond that. A max load of 2520 behind a 77 grain bullet chrono'd just over 2,700 fps out of my White Oak barrel. A max load of Match Rifle was under 2,600 fps. It just didn't perform as well as 2520. With 55 grain Hornady ZMAX or AMAX bullets, Match Rifle would shoot sub-moa at 200 yds but I did not try it beyond that distance.

magic powder for that magic load in .308

By Joe L. on Feb 25, 2021
I used to use Accurate 2520, but they changed suppliers and I was stuck until I found that Shooters World made the ORIGINAL powder. Life is good.

With this powder, I get sub 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards all day long with my .308. love it!

Try it and you will love it.
