Carbide Factory Crimp Die sizes the cartridge while being crimped so every round will positively chamber freely with factory like dependability The adjusting screw quickly and easily sets the desired amount of crimp. Trim Length is not critical so this extra operation takes less time than it would if cases were trimmed and chamfered. A firm crimp is essential for dependable and accurate ammunition, as it eliminates the problems of poor ignition of slow burning magnum powders.

By Eric V. on Mar 27, 2020I also use it religiously with my .45 ACP handloads as I have a custom Commander with a tight, match chamber that often will not allow a round to seat fully. A slightly oversized round stuck in the chamber is no fun when in the middle of an action pistol stage! (Nor would it be in a self defense situation!) The factory crimp die ensures that every round will chamber.
