Perfect Bullet for Elk & Oryx size game

By Jeffery W. on Mar 20, 2026
This bullet is fantastic! It takes the best from a Nosler Partition, BC and accuracy of a Barnes TTSX. Add Nickel plating and you have one highly accurate tough bullet. I load them in a 300 Wby Mag, Ramshot Grand, Federal 215M, and Norma Brass. 24" barrel rifle is 3,318 fps cold 1st shot. 26" barrel rifle is 3,375! Cold 1st shot. No problem shooting 3/4" MOA 3 shot group at 100 yards. I have never record one fired from a 300 Wby Mag because they exit.
Shot an Oryx bull at about 200 yards. He was standing broad side and I hit him in the left shoulder. Bullet broke both shoulders and exited. Oryx never took a step and it slapped him to the ground. He landed with his sternum bone facing me, he kick once and I shot him again. Hit him dead center in the sternum bone and bullet exited broke his spine and exited between his shoulders.
I have recovered bullets from big 6X6 bull elk shot with a 7mm Wby Mag and a 155 at 3,301FPS. One bullet weighed 86% from a bull the dropped in his tracks at 370 yards. The other 6X6 was at 323 yards and the bullet weighed 83%. Both were perfect mushrooms!
