MTM's Ammo Can easily handles 30 pounds of gear in an easy to transport package. It provides excellent, water resistant protection along with extraordinary durability. Molded out of rugged polypropylene plastic and has a comfortably handle holds up to some pretty rough treatment. The Ammo Can offers a heavy-duty dual latches for better sealing, three padlock tabs and molded-in stacking ridges for slip resistant stacking. Features: O-ring, thick wall construction, large comfortable handle and heavy-duty latch. Great for protection in basements, garages or storage sheds. The ammo can does not have a tray on the inside.

 9x15.6x9 ammo can

I have several of these cans.
I store them in a cellar.
It's damp down there so for extra protection, I place an open garbage bag inside the cans , then put the boxes of ammo in, tie the bag tight with a twisted wire, and lock the lid.
I've checked them years later. It works good.

MTM Ammo Can

Very sturdy ammo box , latch is strong and has a very good handle .I've had to reseal the O ring on a few of the boxes, appears that the O ring is a press fit to keep it in the lid, used a very thin bead of weatherstripping glue to secure the O ring . Overall a very strong box , MTM needs a better system for keeping the seal in place .

Performs as Promised

I was very pleased with these ammo cans, well built sturdy and the price point can't be beat. Weight is minimal they can be secured as with others. Time from order to receive was acceptable and will serve my purpose just fine. If your looking for a lockable ammo can that can hold a decent amount of weight these will work just fine. You can put 600 rounds of handoaded ammo 5.56 or 300 blk in mtm plastic containers in these very easily & feel confident they won't break or fail.

O-Rings don't help

Bought two (2) of these because of the assumption that an o-ring would make a difference. Not when the o-rings are improperly sized. The container is quite sturdy and can carry a full load of ammo without losing the handle but it is not for storage. A silica gel pack turns pink in under a week. It would be good for transporting ammo to and from the range.

I ended up paying about the same amount for U.S. military surplus with a real o-ring seal. One of the MTM containers is now used for CFC lightbulbs. I bought a window seal product and it replaces the shoddy o-ring supplied. Too bad as this has good capacity and nearly mil. spec. ruggedness.
