Ingenious application of graphite
By Palmer P. on Oct 20, 2025
I was skeptical reading the reviews but this is beyond clever. The little balls, whatever they are, carry the graphite extremely well. Dip your case neck in and the inside and out will be well coated. Lubricate your bullet for seating and lubricate your taper crimp die in one simple step.

Redding Application Media

This stuff works great. No mess and easy to use. Just make sure to velcro the bottom of the container to your bench or tray. Its easy to knock over and impossible to pick up.
Great product, BUT...

I'm giving it 5 stars because I know what kind of a product it has been for me over the years, but I can't comment on the one I paid Graf's for because they busted a hole in the bottom of the canister against a corner of a cartridge box trying to compress paper inside the box for shipping. So the entire box of graphite was evenly dispersed over the rest of my order under the paper and I couldn't salvage even a smidge of it. Of course a note to customer disservice didn't even get a response. Hoping I'll get the free shipping for doing this review to get $10 of my $11 wasted back. Sometimes packing can go too far, but I really didn't expect to be ignored completely by Graf's. So FYI, if you buy this, buy it by itself as a lone item. Otherwise you're apt to end up wearing it once you pull out all the packing Grafs puts in a box!
Best Dry Neck Lube

My subject title says it all.
One caution: dunk the case neck into the Redding media before applying the case lube. (I use Redding Imperial case lube too.)
This is to prevent one or more of the tiny ceramic media balls from sticking to the case. This can happen if the case is dipped a little too far into the media tub where the balls contact the lubed case surface. These tiny balls are hard and will dent the case when it is in the resizing die.
Another suggestion is to use the neck lube tub inside a tray or similar container. That way you can contain the mess if the tub is accidentally bumped and tips over.

Redding/Imperial dry neck lube (application media)

This is the best dry neck lube I have found. This product includes application media plus lube, the one you need to lube dry necks before sizing. Works very well for all my bottleneck rifle cartridges.
