Should work
By Sabin C. on Aug 31, 2023
I ordered this kit to remove the barrel from a savage 110. Smooth nut style, so I had to use the rounded type wrench part and brass shim, which came in this kit. I could not get the wrench tight enough around the barrel nut to turn it without slipping, so I kept increasing bolt tension on the wrench itself but it eventually snapped. Turns out, if you are not re-using the factory barrel nut anyway, you can just use a pipe wrench and remove it easily, it just scuffs it up a bit. I'm sure this kit works great on the other style barrel nuts.
Worked perfect

Used the notched wrench for a savage 10 factory barrel swap. Folks said it would be hard to remove. Carefully put the wrench on the nut with the barrel in a viper vise and a few gently taps wit a rubber mallet and it was done. Tool held up great and will be used many more times.
