Product Information

Berger Classic Hunter Bullets utilize their industry-leading hybrid ogive, which blends tangent and secant designs to optimize efficiency, reduce wind-drift, and minimize sensitivity to seating depth. The Classic Hunter Bullets are designed for magazine usage and can easily conform to SAAMI dimensions while reloading. Great for factory rifle applications where quick follow-up shots are a must. Classic Hunters utilize a thinner J4 Precision Jacket for rapid expansion on game animals. Classic Hunters are designed to penetrate 2-3″ and then begin to expand and create a massive wound cavity up to 15″. The hydrostatic shock causes most animals to drop immediately.

 Penetrates like a bonded bullet

I've shot deer with this bullet in a 243 Win. I've now loaded this bullet for my grandsons 243s. You really want to get an exit wound when you shoot light calibers at deer. So far we always have. There isn't a big exit hole, not a mushrooming bullet, but that is OK. I got what I wanted, an exit wound on lung shots.

Have not tried on game yet, but in my .243 and 6mm Rem these bullets shoot extremely well. I assume the bullets will perform well on deer/antelope which I intend to try.

Very accurate bullet in my sons 243 win Ruger American. He killed a nice 5x6 bull elk in New Mexico with this bullet this past October.

I have an old Rem 700 BDL varmint rifle in 6mm Rem, with a heavy barrel. I have tried several bullets from several mfgs, without great results. I then tried Berger 68 grain flat base, and their 95 grain HPBT, and have had GREAT results. I have been handloading for 60 years, and I can now get this problem rifle to shoot well. I have found Berger bullets to be the best in this rifle.

Nice groups using XX.0 grains of H1000 in my 243 Winchester.

Will be using these on a cull hunt in South Africa this September.
