This was the bullet that started it all. Produced by pressure-forming pure copper tubing around a pure lead core, this highly reliable bullet was the first custom bullet available to American handloaders. Introduced in 1939, it was long the favorite of professional hunters who demanded performance they could depend on, each and every time. On impact, Barnes's Original bullets typically expand to more than 200 percent of their original diameter and retain 70 to 90 percent of their original weight.

Barnes Makes The Best Bullets

Out of my Uberti 1876 Centennial 50-95 reproduction rifle the Barnes original Bullet is the best!
The ballistic coefficient is remarkable. In both the 300gn and 450gn between 50 & 200yrds it’s lights out.
Now the only reason I use those distances is because I’ve yet had the opportunity to really open it up and reach out further. But I can say that my rifle is a tack driver. And the Barnes original does the job I want it to do.

I loaded them up in my 50-95 Winchester with IMR 4198, very accurate. 5 shot into 1.1” at 50 yards. We’ll be ordering more soon.
