I found the 12 bore to be overkill on upland game. I like the simplicity of the 28 bore with matching 3/4 oz. loads. They pattern well and reliably kill pheasants and chuckers to 30 yards. Don’t be fooled that the 28 bore is inadequate, its a matter of hitting the quarry in the zone of the pattern.
