This die helps to separate seating and crimping on a friends new Dillon 550. I believe that this makes for a smoother operation and prevents scraping the bullet jacket.

Replaced my Lee .40 cal crimping die with this one from Hornady. Both similar tapered-wall crimping dies. I like Hornady's one turn adjustment to dial in my preferred crimp (light to medium) and locking set ring feature. Lee takes two adjustments and no locking set ring. Both brands have "non-crush" design.
