I use this pot to heat salts to 500 degrees Centigrade in order to anneal brass cartridge cases prior to resizing them in the reloading cycle. This unit heats the salts to a molten condition in +/- 20 minutes, and does so safely. I use a stainless steel case holder to put the cases in the liquid salts just enough to heat the neck and shoulders, and only for five to seven seconds. See Ballistic Recreations.com for more details. the Lee pot performs well in this role. this is about the easiest way to anneal brass, and I have tried them all
