LIGHTNING 45c(.452) 250gr RNFP-CB CAST BULLET 100bx

I gave this bullet a '4' rating since I've only loaded it, not fired it as of yet. I wanted a Cowboy Action bullet for shooting in a couple period rifles but wanted it slow enough so it wouldn't lead the barresl. Using Hodgdon online C.A. reloading data and resized .45 LC cases, I expanded the case mouths just enough with a Lee Expander die so the bullet would just stick into a horizontally-held case and stay put. After inserting a less-than maximum load expected to yield 850 fps from a 16" M94, with an RCBS seating/crimping die I effortlessly seated 200 of the Lightning bullets into case mouths just a "hair" short of the cases touching the bullets shoulder above the crimping groove. No lead was shaved from the bullet sides, and the OAL was 1.570. These good-looking cartridges were spot-checked with a Lyman case gauge, falling in and out without a problem. I will buy these bullets again.
