Fiocchi 2.5 .410 hulls

Listen, if you have used Fiocchi ammo then you already know that these hulls are as good as it gets. I bought them because I wanted to load my own 1/2 oz squirrel loads with Nickel plated shot. Hey they are pre -primed!! No haz-mat fee! Grafs was the only outfit that had them any way...price was ok. FYI, was looking for Fiocchi as well because of cost. I really have no idea what the to-do is about components any way since "even reclaimed waste water is fine in the desert", get the drift??

Once fired not available and USA new not available so I got these to try. Took some homework to find data for what I needed (3 x 0000 buck) @ 1400 rpm. Crimp just fine. Now I will watch for Cheddite primers.
These Fiocchi Hulls Have Pros & Cons
By Kevin K.
on Oct 17, 2020
I ordered a thousand of these because the Winchester AA and Remington STS 410 hulls have gone from being like gold to platinum costs and rarity over the past couple years.
Anytime that any site I found had them on (and trust me I THOROUGHLY search the web for them) they're already sold out before I can get an order of them, and on the rare occasion when I can them when there's a couple lots of them still left, they want gouging costs for them like Once Fired Hulls just told me just 2 weeks ago that he wants 115.00 and 10.00 shipping for 500 hulls :-O and nope I'm not going to be someone's target and bull's-eye to get ridiculously gouged!
So I had no other choice but to try these Fiocchi 410 hulls, and for the pros of them, after they were delivered and I checked them out, they seem to be pretty decent/good hulls... I didn't notice any defects in the manufacturing process, meaning I didn't see any that were not formed properly, and the material and structure of the hull seemed pretty durable to at least get a few reloads out of them which is fine for the price of these especially when they even come primed which saves us a lot of time from depriming our hulls, buying primers, and then repriming them.
Now for the cons, before buying these I tried to do research on them by going to the many different gun/reloading forums to see what others said but like with many other subject matters, I got some who said yes to these hulls being and doing this and that, some who said no these hulls were not this or that, and some who had a mixture of that information to add to the pot, and so I was left to just buying these Fiocchi hulls and having to see for myself. Well, it didn't take long after they were delivered to me to see that the common/standard wads for the 410 hulls, claybuster 410hs, did not have a tight fit in these whereby the looseness started from the top and continued all the way to the lower section of the hull. In fact loose enough that they would not have sealed around their diameter and the inside diameter of the hulls thus would lead to powder migration and loss of pressure due to poorly sealing themselves to the powder.
So my 3-star rating is for Fiocchi not having disclosed themselves the adequate information that would have been very helpful for their potential customers knowing what all these hulls are capable of, meaning can they be properly/adequately used with a variety of wads whereby we're not just limited to their array of products that would have to be bought just to work properly in them. Again, those gun/reloading forums are full of people who are either liars with nothing better to do than wanting entertained with a debate, or they often and accidently get things mixed up by telling others that the standard/common wads for our Remington and Winchester hulls fit just as tight in the Fiocchi hulls and work just as good, when in fact they don't. Yes, I found this happening on many different gun/reloading forums, and yes, I know the reload data for these Fiocchi hulls often give the recommended wads to use in them, but we don't always know for a FACT if that's the only wads to be used in them since we see A LOT of other components that were made for one particular manufacture's product can then also be used in other manufacture's products since sometimes there is a close-enough parameter between the 2 different products whereby letting us interchange things, but please keep in mind that these hulls seemed pretty good to me in the way of quality for the cost being paid for them, but due to the constant misinformation that's put out there anymore, the companies THEMSELVES need to tell us right in their descriptions the things like what are the tolerances/parameters when using components other than the components that carry their own name and such things.

I bought 5 bags of these hulls and am very pleased. They are well made, consistent in their dimensions and easy to load. I would recommend not only the Fiocchi hulls but also Grafs for their timely shipping, price structure and just all around good people to work with.
