The Lee Factory Crimp die crimps the bullet in place more firmly than any other tool. It is impossible to buckle the case as with regular roll crimp dies. Trim length is not critical.

38-40 Factory crimp die

38-40 has a reputation for being difficult to reload, especially at the crimping step. The Lee factory crimp die removes the problems of inconsistent case lengths and with especially delicate cases like the 38-40, case crush is never a problem.
