Sellier & Bellot 8x57JS 196gr SPCE

Way back in 2005, I took my Remington 700 Classic 8x57JS rifle (24 inch barrel) to South Africa for plains game. Before my trip, I chronographed this S&B 8x57JS 196 gr SPCE ammo with my Chrony. 10 shots with an average muzzle velocity of 2647 fps. Extreme spread = 31 fps. Standard deviation = 10 fps. I was impressed!! I ended up taking a handload to South Africa for my 8x57 rifle (220 gr Woodleigh RN at approx 2400 fps) but I was impressed by this S&B 8x57 ammo at the rifle range. Yeah, I’ve been out of the shooting game for about 20 years… Stuff happens in life and interests change. But, I ordered 3 boxes of this S&B 8x57 ammo this evening! It’s time to get back in the game again. I’m interested to see if this S&B ammo still performs as well now as it did back in 2005. Cheers!

This is a very high quality round at a very reasonable price. I have purchased this several times from Graf & Sons and have never been disappointed. I am able to fire unbelievably tight groupings from my old Mauser made in 1905 with this ammunition.

The ability to get quality ammunition sent to my home in just a few days is most appreciated.

Excellent cartridge, exceptional accuracy and consistent performance. Have not missed a deer since beginning to use them. Projectile generally does not exit the animal and always has complete expansion
