Neck Sized for use with .308 bullet
By Gary S.

I own many Hornady modified cases and and they work great for establishing custom seating depths for various bullet profiles. I too found that the neck of this modified case has been sized for .308 bullets vice .311-.312. I'm sure that the modified case will work fine for someone loading 7.62x54r with .308 bullets; many do use that caliber of bullet.
I would recommend that if someone desires to use .311-.312 bullets that they order a "custom" modified case from Hornady by sending them 2 fire-formed pieces of brass and $20. Make sure that a .312 bullet will fit in the cases that you send. See more/complete information on the Hornady site.
There may be a disclaimer about the above differences but I could not find it. If no disclaimer exists, I recommend one be added.

Measures as it should - I will get every size I need after trying this one.
Doesn't Fit / Must Acquit

Doesn't fit at all. Too narrow for a .310-.312 and since Hornady loads .308 pills for this I tried a .308, -way too big. Not sure what's going on. I'll try running it thru the die, then seating a bullet, then pull the bullet. Only game in town, best I can do.
Worth every penny!

I bought a few of these and they work great. I used this on my Mosin Nagant and realized my loading manual was way off on the OAL.
