Product Information

An absolute must for those who clean cases before reloading. Cases need not be clean nor lubed when using this die. Cases are not sized at all, only deprimed. Works on boxer-primed brass only. Fits cases up to .560" in diameter and up to 3.125" long.

 

OPTION: Use one of the heavy duty guided decappers in conjunction with this die. Guided decapper helps align the case to reduce the chance of bending or breaking a decapper.

This is a great tool. I like to wet tumble brass and this makes effortless work of depriming/decapping prior to wet wet tumbling.

Just be sure to center your brass on the shellholder and the die works perfectly. The pin may miss the flash hole and hit the base of the case if it is not fully in the shellholder. This differs slightly from the regular depriming/resizing die as those pins are meant for specific calibers and will generally bring the cartridge into alignment on the upstroke if they happen to be slightly askew. This universal deprimer will not do that (by design). You will likely have to be more cautious about this with larger calibers as the pin will leave plenty of room around the case neck as compared to smaller calibers.

This makes brass prep easier by not having to lube cases before decapping. Just decap in your press with ease, keeping an eye on the rod/case alignment, then throw them in your wet tumbler.

Set up my single stage press to decap and reprime all my cases. The Lee Universal Decapping die makes this easy. I decap, tumble , clean pocket, size on my turret, run up in this die again to knock out media from flash hole then prime.

a little more attention so your brass doesn't catch part of the decapper on the way up. Otherwise works great.
