RCBS 35-200-FN mold

By Gregory T. on Aug 17, 2023
Been loading and casting since 1973. Started with LEE molds cause they were the cheapest. Then moved on to Lyman, RCBS and Redding-Saeco. I have the absolute best results with Saeco and RCBS molds. Lyman comes in a 3rd. Though I don't know for certain, I THINK the reason the RCBS & Saeco molds cast better than the others is because they are larger and hold the proper casting temperature better than the others. With both RCBS and Saeco, provided I pre-heat the molds properly, I am spitting out perfect bullets with the 1st cast. With Lyman, it takes a few casts to start putting out perfect bullets. LEE molds, being made from (soft) aluminum, tend to damage too easily and don't cast perfect bullets unless they are "smoked" (which is a PITA).
