Product Information

Redding dies are made of the finest alloy steels obtainable and machined on Hardinge Super- Precision lathes capable of holding the tightest tolerances in the industry.    To maintain tolerances and guarantee that your dies will last a lifetime, all Redding dies are heat treated in atmospherically controlled furnaces.  Finally, your dies are hand polished for smooth, flawless functioning, go through final inspection, and are ultrasonically cleaned and packaged.  The die box is a handy cartridge loading block and storage package. Inside is a spare decapping pin, hex wrench, and even a place for your shellholder (sold separately).  All Redding dies use the industry standard 7/8-14 threaded bodies.  Die sets for straight wall cases contain three dies:  a full length resizing die, an expander die with neck expanding plug, and seating die with built in crimp ring and the proper seating plug.  Steel dies require case lubrication when sizing.

Have to admit, this die set was more difficult to use, had to strong arm each case with lube of course! Disappointed that shell holder was not included!

Redding

I have used Redding reloading equipment for over forty years. I generally find their equipment to be top quality. This die set is currently at Redding getting the sizing die checked out. Brass was extremely hard to resize, and was making a squealing, chattering noise all the way in, and back out. I was sure that I was going to have my first stuck case ever. I even ran the brass into a carbide die first, and then through the steel die. No matter how much lube I used I had the same result. I gave it three stars on good faith that they will resolve the issue, and the fact that I have to pay shipping for them to resolve their issue. I want the most accuracy I can get from my Freedom Arms revolver, and Redding claims that steel dies are the way to get it.
