Product Information

Berry's Preferred Plated bullets begin as a swaged lead core. The swaged lead cores are tumbled in an electrically charged bath containing high-grade copper ingots. The copper clings to the lead and the longer the bullets remain in the bath, the thicker the plating.  The bullets are plated to the correct size and then taken out of the bath. Plated bullets are not as expensive as jacketed bullets.  They are cleaner than lead but you'll want to stay away from magnum velocities when loading plated bullets.  This is not loaded ammunition.

Berry 9 mm 124 gr. HBRN-TP

By Michael G. on Aug 30, 2023
I found the TP bullet does not smear when seating in the case like the standard plated bullets (when the bullet plated smears above the top of the case, the cartridge will not chamber and the bullet will have to be pulled and thrown away). This TP bullet can also be loaded to higher velocities than the standard plated bullet, 1500 fps vs. 1250 fps, which means it can be shot in 9 mm rifle barrels.

A great range bullet

Berry’s 124 grain HBRN-TP bullets are my go to range bullet in 9mm. These bullets seat in my Dillon 550c very consistently. The hollow base allows a longer COAL, which results in greater accuracy. No leading issues for me with the thick plate. And you get all this without blowing up your reloading budget. I always have a stock of Berry’s in my reloading cabinet.

Great price, accurate, no leading. I reload and this bullet works great in my 1911, no jam-ups.

Berry’s 124 HBRN-TP

By Daniel T. on Feb 02, 2023
I have loaded over 5,000 of these bullets. With Dillion XL 750. Seating depths always consistent, weights very good. Have never had accuracy issues. Load with. CFE pistol.
Speeds are never worse than 45 fps.
Never seen one separate, or leave anything other than a perfect round hole.
I have been more than happy with this product and will continue to use them

Perfect for reloaders who don't want to touch lead

By John A. on Nov 12, 2022
I shoot a fair amount of 9mm, so I reload in order to be able to afford it. I decided long ago to minimize my contact with lead to the degree possible, and these are a very cost-effective bullet that allows the reloader to do just that. You can't drive these as fast as a truly copper jacketed bullet, but for informal target shooting at the range, you don't need to, either. I usually load Berry's 115 grain offering, but the 124 grain bullets are quite good also, and some of my pistols shoot a bit better with the slightly heavier bullet. When I'm down to one unopened box of a thousand, I always order at least another box. These are my go-to choice for my reloads.

124 gr. HBRN-TP Bullets

I find this bullet to be exactly what I want in a practice or plinking bullet. They are very accurate. The thick plate allows for higher velocities than standard. The hollow base allows for a longer bullet that stabilizes better than standard plated bullets.

Have fired thousands and thousands. Love Berry's 124gr. HBRN-TP bullets!

Pretty good quality control, for a really good price.

I weighed a few and they had decent deviations; good enough for the range

Really good accurate bullets for plinking.
I would go by lead bullet load data..
I buy these up whenever they’re available.

Great bullets for volume shooting

By Albert K. on Jun 04, 2020
Great price, well-made and reloads easily. All you need do is keep the velocities reasonable and pay attention to the amount of crimp and you'll find them cleaner than cast lead bullets.
