The .222 Remington, also called “The triple deuce”, has been popular in Scandinavia among bird hunters as a good cartridge option for capercaillie and black grouse. It also gained a good reputation in Central-Europe where it was and still is used for roe bock hunting. The .222 Rem. round continuously enjoys a reputation for inherent accuracy, and it is today a popular small game and varmint cartridge at short and medium ranges. Lapua´s 3.6 gram / 55 grain Soft Point bullet (E539) is designed for small game hunting where the rapid opening and mushrooming of the bullet are some of the most important characteristics.

The .222 Remington cartridge is suitable for eg. small to medium game hunting such as roe deer, fox etc. and practice shooting at short to medium range.
