Product Information

The RT1500 Electric Case Trimmer is designed to handle the heaviest trimming jobs, including converting 223 Remington into 300 AAC Blackout. The RT1500 makes short work out of trimming large quantities of brass. The RT 1500 trim die is used just like a standard size die. The big difference is that while you are pushing the case into the die to size it, a 1/4 horsepower electric motor driving a carbide cutter is trimming the case to length. Chips are drawn off through a vacuum manifold that clamps to the outside of the special size/trim die. (Vacuum cleaner and hose not included.)

Outside diameter of manifold is 1.250" where the vacuum hose connects. The RT1500 is equipped with a quick-disconnect power cord; and it can be used on any standard reloader, single stage or progressive.

See below for caliber exceptions. Available only in 110 volt / 60 Hz.

NOTE: Toolhead and Size/trim dies are sold separately. Case lube must be used to size and trim brass. Replacement Carbide Cutting Blades, stock #13141

All the electrical / electronic components of Dillon equipment are covered by a one-year warranty from date of purchase.

In order to trim .300 Blackout or 6.8 SPC, you must be aware of the following:

  • You must use the RT1500 trimmer
  • You must use the Dillon XL650 Short Trim Die Toolhead #62112 , 1050 Short Trim Die Toolhead #62219, or RL550 Short Trim Die Toolhead #62231
  • To convert .223 Remington / 5.56mm into .300 Blackout, you must use the Dillon Carbide .300 Blackout Trim Die #62140

Best trimmer out there

Have a few of these trimmers. They run 5-6 hours a day, every day. Never had one break on me.

Very nice!

I wanted a 8.6 BLK but ammo is all but non existent so roll my own is the way to go. I sized a few by hand and trimmed but cutting off that much brass was very slow, so I finally justified my Dillon trimmer. It makes short work of creating the 8.6 BLK cases. I also picked up the 300 BLK, 308 Win, and 223 Rem dies to make the loading job much faster.

Overbuilt!

Worked perfectly as does all of Dillon's products.

It's everything you'd expect

Previously I'd used my 650 to resize all the 223/556 rifle brass and then a Sinclair trimmer for my 3 gun activities. Adding the motorized trimmer to the 650 is fantastic, such a massive time savings. The motor itself is super quiet and very low vibration. The cut is clean, but even after using an M die to size the neck, I will still probably given them a light chamfer and deburr prior to loading. Maybe I will find it's not necessary as I plan to dry tumble cases prior to loading to attempt to remove lube. It is a little fiddly to setup as you are setting the sizing/timmer die and the position of the trimmer motor on that die. With everything all connected sometimes tightening and loosening one will effect the other. Just have to be patient and focused.
