Product Information

There are other primer seaters on the market, but none quite like our exclusive Forster Co-Ax® Primer Seater. Unlike other seaters, ours is designed so the operator can eliminate all slop when working with a specific cartridge. That translates into perfect seating, reliable ignition and reduced misfires. No additional shell holders are required. The E-Z-Just jaws close to securely grip most modern rifle and pistol cases with a rim thickness of .045" to .072". Large and small primer tubes have an open slot and primers stack sideways for added safety.

Quick and easy

It takes a little bit to get it setup properly but once you do it’s very easy to use.

priming made easier

By Udo K. on Sep 25, 2023
Got those Bosnian primers and my other priming tool was not working correctly because the Bosnian primers are somewhat larger than our usual. I was priming large pistol, new cases, and had to apply quite some pressure to seat them. After getting over some quirks this tool was a joy to use. Wish the tubes would hold a 100 primers. Have not fired any yet but will do soon. Would buy another one just to be able to use it on small primers without having to change it. Attached it to a small board with rubber feet and it worked on my dining room table without clamping it down. Amazing!

Top Quality priming tool

By David S. on Oct 28, 2020
I've used nearly every type of priming tool over the years, and they all have some sort of drawback. Poor feel, poor quality, awkward movement, difficult to load primer tray. This tool is of excellent build quality. The feel is top notch. I like that it doesn't have to be attached to the bench. I would like to see larger capacity primer tubes, but that is easily remedied with additional tubes. Technically, my one gripe has not to do with this tool, but the tray that feeds it. It appears that it was 3D printed. I guess that is the way of the future, but it crates some rough edges that seem unfinished.

Just what I was looking for!

By Michael E. on May 25, 2020
I really like this priming tool. I can feel the primers bottom out and they are nice and straight in the primer pocket. Plenty of leverage for tight pockets. Buy the extra primer tube loader that they offer as it is well worth it and makes loading the tubes effortless. Great product.

Setting the jaws takes a little practice but once you get the hang of it they operate perfectly.

I did 60 cases of small primer 6.5 and 6 Creedmoor with ease!! And all so 500 45 cases all in my truck on my lunch break!! On the 45 large primer 2 out of 500 got sideways some how?? Maybe because I did them on the center counsel of my truck. Well built very nice product recommend it

Fast And Easy Primer Feed Tube Loading

By Leon G. on Jul 02, 2019
I also have an RCBS bench priming tool. It works great, but the annoying part is loading the primer feed tube. Poking the primers into the tube one by one, then having to push - cautiously - the last primer through the plastic tip, is irritating, to say the least.

Since I use the Forster CoAx press and dies, I decided to try their bench priming tool.

The chief problem with Forster's bench primer is adjusting the shell holder; it's a three-hand job. It does not lend itself well to changing calibers. But I reload 30-06, .308, and 6.5 Creedmoor, and these cartridges have the same base dimensions. So once the primer tool is adjusted for one of these, it is ready to work with the others with no need of readjustment.

The Forster bench primer tool stands ahead of its RCBS competitor in ease and rapidity of loading the primer feed tube. The accessory Forster primer flip tray lets you load the primer tube in a few seconds, and effortlessly.

The tool's operating handle has excellent leverage and feed back. There is so little force required to seat a primer that it is not really necessary to bolt the tool to the work bench. I mounted mine on a piece of wood, and it works fine that way, without needing to be clamped to the work table.

Perfect tool

By Tim C. on Dec 23, 2014
Having now primed over 5000 rounds with this tool I can say without qualification this is the finest priming tool I have ever used. It allows me to “perfectly” feel the primer seat in the primer pocket. I also know instantly if the primer is seated to the depth I want. There are so many pluses in this tool it is hard to give them all. At the top of this list has to be the fact there is no shell holder to fiddle with; one can prime cases with any head size with a quick clean adjustment of the Forsters E-Z-Just jaws.

As with all Forester products, "THE BEST"

Nice for tired hands

By Marcus F. on Jan 03, 2013
Arthritic hands are painful for me when using the hand held priming tools. The feel of the primer seating on the Forster bench unit is the best of any primer seater I've used, which includes two versions of the Lee hand tool, the RCBS hand tool, the Hornady hand tool, and the auto feed on my Hornady LNL AP press. My gripes are the primer tube only holds about 45 LR primers and you have to hold the primers in the tube while inverting it if the tool is bench mounted. Clamping to the bench worked for me and allowed me to easily remove it for primer tube insertion. The normal use of my hands the day after priming duties is worth the nit picks above, to me.
