A favorite among benchrest shooters. A chamber type bullet seater positively controls both bullet and cartridge case alignment. The case and bullet are completely captured by the die prior to the bullet being pushed straight into the case by a close-fitting seating stem. This style of bullet seater works more accurately than a conventional (7/8"-14) bullet seating die. This is one of the most accurate bullet seaters ever made.

Chamber Type Bullet Seater

Disappointing. I sorted 20 rounds of mixed brass .308. All were trimmed to same length and had a neck thickness variation of less than or equal to .001. Bullet was Hornady 168 ELD-M.
10 were loaded with a sliding sleeve type bullet seater in a Forester press, then checked for runout on a Hornady Concentricity Tool: .001,.003. .002, .0025, .003, .003, .0005, .0015, .0015, .0045.
Then 10 loaded with an arbor press and the Wilson Chamber bullet seater:.005, .002, .0045, .003, .005, .0035, .003, .0045, .0025, .002.
For me, with this particular setup, it didn't work as expected.
