The Caldwell® Pic Rail Adapter is perfect for utilizing both your shoulder sling and a pic rail mounted accessory at the same time. By adjusting the tension on the front and rear T20 screws you can change the vertical angle of the Pic Rail Adapter to align with the barrel instead of the stock.

Effective & easy to install & use.
The hard aluminum stock contact of the unit is curved, intended for stocks having round forends. Most stocks are flat where the front sling swivel stud is located. A thick rubber fitting placed between aluminum body & stock is used to conform to stocks that have flat forends or not round. Upon extensive tension and long use this rubber fitting might compress & fail causing the adaptor to be loose or damage the stock surface.
I made an aluminum plate having a round bottom surface and flat stock contact surface that makes a good rounded surface fit for the Pic rail adaptor plate and stock.. The sling swivel stud projects thru the aluminum plate.
Providing more than 1 version of the Pic rail adaptor plate for flat surface forends would fix the problem,
