PPU 243 Brass

There brass has been good in the past. This batch has porosity inside in the case head area . I'm going to junk it.

Used for a long time

I have been using PPU brass for many years. For rifles I shoot at 1000k I sort the brass by weight and debur primer holes. For hunting or plinking I load it all after resizing straight out of the bag. This 243 PPU brass will be used for hunting in a youth rifle and will last a long time.

The price is very good for this brass, it seems to have the same specs as the factory loads from major manufacturers. I haven't tried my reloads yet, but I am sure they will work well and have good accuracy.

One piece was bad

Most of the brass was quite good. I always run new brass through a neck sizing die, and I had one piece that jammed tight in the die. It took a lot of force to withdraw the piece of brass from the die, and the entire neck of the case came off and was stuck on the stem of the die. I had to tap the stem through a vise to remove the stuck neck.
Other than that one pice of brass, the lot has been great. I would have given it 5 stars if not for that one issue, which I expect is pretty unusual.

From my experience, this is superior to Winchester. No dented shoulders, every one usable. Consistent lengths and primer pockets. Leaving 4 stars only because I have not determined longevity of this manufacturer

Forgetting that it took so long to get this shipment, the PPU brass was sized and trimmed right on the money all cases were within .001 if each other. I can't wait to load up and bag some coyotes.

I was extremely surprised at how close the cases were in weight. out of the 150 I purchase maybe 10 were outside of what I like in weight. Not sure about how long primer pockets will last but these have been great so far.

I have an unopened bag of 100 .243 PPU and have not used it yet because my supply of ammo also loaded with PPU .243 brass does not need new brass..
Tight primer pockets, no split necks, Looks good right out of bag. Minimum prep. Load with 87 VMax and several other powders all giving great velocities & accuracy. The .243 is one of America's cartridges and can do almost everything within its capabilities including competition with 105-107 bullets.
