Product Information

The L-N-L Headspace Gauge is the best method we’ve found to extend brass life, improve accuracy, and enhance safety. The gauge measures variations inyour brass before and after firing or re-sizing. It allows for comparison between fire-formed brass from your gun and your re-sized brass. Any of five interchangeable bushings are attached to your caliper using the same body as foundon our Bullet Comparator.

The five bushings that come with the L-N-L Headspace Gauge provide the ability to check most bottleneck cases, from .17 Rem through the belted magnums. Ackley Improved chambers use the same bushing size as the parent case. See chart provided or consult product instructions for cartridge/bushing size details.  Dial Caliper sold separately.

Determining the proper bushing diameter: If you add the neck diameter and the shoulder diameter and divide that number by two, use the bushing closest to that number.

This is an absolute essential for reloading necked cartridge. I needed this to see how far back I was knocking my shoulder back on .223 brass with a full length sizing die. It works great! I highly recommend. It will definitely help extend brass life.

The Hornady headspace gauge helps me to adjust my sizing die to get the best life out of my rifle brass. Over full length sizing overworks the brass that could cause premature failure. This is a tool every reloader should utilize.

I’ve only used it for measuring headspace on .223. It works well and is repeatable once you get the case squared on the caliper. It made setting up a sizing die easier than using a case gauge since you can see exactly how far to bump the shoulder back.
