Product Information

Shooters around the world will appreciate the accuracy and extreme long range performance of the 22 caliber 95 grain HPBT (#1396).  A sleek 27 caliber elongated ogive and a final meplat reducing operation (pointing) provide an increased ballistic coefficient for optimal wind resistance and velocity retention.  To ensure precise bullet to bore alignment, a unique bearing surface to ogive junction uses the same 1.5 degree angle commonly found in many match rifle chamber throats.

While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications.  Although MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts.

This bullet requires a barrel TWIST rate of 6.5” or Faster.

This is not loaded ammunition.

1:7 twist Works Great

By Richie T. on Feb 23, 2021
these are awsome projectiles. They actually outshot the 90gr. SMK in my Faxon 1:7 barrel. Staball x.x gives great accuracy with geat SDs.

No Surprise

By Carl J D. on Sep 24, 2018
Decided to build my .224 Valkyrie about the same time as everyone else it seems and learned quickly that no one had barrels in stock. Couldn’t get comfortable with the idea that a 1:7 twist would stabilize the 90 grain SMK, so ordered a XCaliber 1:6 just to be comfortable. Soon found 1:7’s were available so built a pair with 1:7 Valkyrie AR’s while waiting for my 1:6. Found that the 88gr ELD-M stabilized fine in 1:7. When the 95gr SMK became available it seemed to be a natural for my 1:6 XCaliber. Using Sierra load data for PP2000MR the XCaliber barrel produced a eight shot cluster of .582. Decided I have my load so ordered 500.
