A Good Base to Begin With But Needs Extra Work to Get Right

By Stephen J. on Apr 26, 2020
If you DON'T expect to start cranking out factory type 7.62x38mmR using once-fired commercial brass without any fuss, then you won't be disappointed. You might find as I did that carefully sorting brass (even between "new" and "old" style PPU because of rim and groove differences), then annealing, meticulously cleaning and heavily lubing the cases will go a long way to make your go at it much easier. Many posts/videos out there to help you get these going. FWIW, I had to use an RCBS 9mm shell holder for half my brass. All that said, the folks at Lee were very helpful in getting my particular die set straight for what I wanted to do, after I sent them in.

Great Starter to make REAL nagant rounds

By Zachary S. on May 01, 2019
check the youtube videos if you want to make sealing nagant rounds. you will need to borrow the expander / decapper from a .303 or 7.62x54R die set. also will need a different shell holder but I was able to duplicate Factory Nagant without corrosive primers!
